Grip Buddies get 4.5 out of 5 in Motorcycle Consumer News - MCN Review
Test from BMW Owners News USA:
Is it irony? Is it a paradox? Maybe it's just plain weird, but it seems that part of the attraction motorcycling holds for riders is the adversity it presents.
Cold weather? No problem. A clutch? Absolutely. Bugs? Yup, everything motorcyclists have been known to embrace can undoubtedly make cagers scratch their heads, but it's also all part of what makes riding a singular experience. Of course, no one says you can't take a few measures to make the journey a little more comfortable. In fact, tourers know that a little more comfort can translate into more hours in the saddle, if not safer ones at that. This is what led me to try out Dave Reppert's "Super Shark Original Grip Buddies" (also known as "Beemer Buddies"). Grip.
Grip Buddies are a cunning little product designed to reduce the buzzing in handlebars, buzzing that can not only be uncomfortable, but can also affect your control and leave your hands tingling even after you're off the bike. Riders have tried all kinds of solutions to reduce "buzziness," such as bar end weights, bearings or shot poured down their handlebars, foam sleeves, and even tennis racket wraps; but Grip Buddies have lately gotten good reviews.
from magazines like Rider and Motorcycle Consumer News, along with approval from riders for a few features that make them a unique and effective solution. For one, the neoprene construction of the Grip Buddies affords a number of advantages beyond simply deadening vibration. The grips don't absorb water, like some slip-on foam rubber grips, and they reportedly conduct heat well on bikes with heated grips. Grip Buddies also have a "Sharkskin" outer layer that doesn't get slippery. In addition, Grip Buddies are about 3/16 of an inch thick, so they will add about ¼ inch to the diameter of your stock grips, and riders report they prefer the "fill-your-hand" feel which provides improved control.
I found the Grip Buddies design makes them a snap to install. They wrap around whatever kind of stock grip you have already, so no removing hand guards or tedious tugging and twisting to get them on. After cleaning your grips with the included alcohol swabs, a peel and stick strip at one edge of the Grip Buddies is lined up and applied where the seam won't fall under your fingertips. Then the neoprene sheet is simply stretched around and anchored to a hook and loop band, so both ends of the neoprene butt up evenly. Presto, spiffy-looking grips that won't slip.
A third feature that appeals to my Scotch lineage is the cost of the Grip Buddies. At $34.95 including shipping, Grip Buddies seemed like a what-have-I-got- to-lose farkle, one that, again, could pay a significant dividend when it comes to riding comfort and control. American made Grip Buddies are warranted for 90 days or 3000 miles, and should they ever wear out, instructions for their removal for changing out to a new set are included in the instructions.
As soon as we in Wisconsin sheepishly crawled out from under the Polar Vortex, I was able to do a road test of the Grip Buddies. For comparison purposes, I applied Grip Buddy to just one grip. At highway speed, I felt the side with the Grip Buddy was definitely less "buzzy," though of course the grip feels thicker. I also had a pair of Grip Buddies' newest product, a "Lite" version for riders with smaller hands, and I then put one of those opposite the original. The difference in size is barely perceptible, but I thought the originals had the edge for vibration reduction. Of course, as they say, "Your results may vary," depending on a bunch of factors like rpm, road surface, bike model and so on, so I decided to get scientific.
Clamping a springy 11" steel cable tie to the cowling of my bench grinder (which vibrates my whole work table), I fired up the grinder and measured the vibration at the tip of my homemade seismic meter. I then placed an original Grip Buddy between the cowling and the cable tie. Vibration of the cable tie was almost immeasurable. With a Grip Buddy Lite, a bit of vibration returned, but still measurably less than with neither product.

June 2014 BMW OWNERS NEWS
From Patrick O'Malley Sept. 7, 2014
I have owned a 2003 BMW R1150R since 2009. Tingling and numbness in my hands has always been a problem. I purchased a throttle lock, which works well when riding on long stretches of straight road, but really can't be used in the twisties. On my last ride, only 51 miles long, my right thumb, pinkie and ring finger were numb and my left hand tingled as well.
I purchased a pair of your Grip Buddies and installed them today. Went for a non-stop ride of 100 miles and was very impressed with how well your product worked.
After riding 90 miles I was amazed at how fresh I felt and didn't have the tingling and numbness that usually occurs. I also felt like I had better throttle control. Dollar for dollar, your product is the best money I've spent, rider comfort wise, on my motorcycle.

Not too sure about the anti vibration reduction on my FJR but with the addition of the Grip Buddies my hand are way more comfortable on a long run - and the heated grips still work fine. The only -ve I can see is if you have a short reach the extra depth of the "buddies" might make reaching for the clutch lever a touch difficult.
